Effective September 1, Cboe BZX Options raised fee code RO—non-customer, non-penny contracts routed away—from $1.25 to $1.31 per contract. This is not a blanket BZX execution-fee increase. The amendment also adds MX2 to the destinations covered by RP, the routed priority-customer code, whose charge remains $0.25. Filed amendment, current fee schedule

The useful implementation question: did destination economics change in the router and transaction-cost model, or only in the invoice parser? At 100,000 affected contracts, the six-cent difference is $6,000. Unchanged gross execution statistics can coexist with worse net results.

Check the exact customer classification and routing path before attributing a September cost change to execution quality. Automatically suppressing routing would be a different decision: saving an explicit fee is not necessarily worth losing a fill.
