An options account averaging more than 390 orders a day for its own benefit must be marked Professional rather than Priority Customer. MX2 filed an immediately effective rule change requiring members to review that threshold monthly instead of quarterly, with the first monthly review covering October activity and resulting status changes applied in November. The September 25 SEC notice is narrow, but operationally real: firms need faster aggregation across beneficial accounts, fewer stale priority designations and a clean month-boundary control. It also pushes MX2 toward the monthly cadence already adopted across several options venues, reducing one form of cross-exchange inconsistency.
