New York weather — a real nor’easter day, not merely intermittent showers
Central Park reported 55°F with light rain, fog and gusts to 24 mph at 4:51 a.m. The 5:07 a.m. National Weather Service update now calls for rain through the day, highs in the lower 60s and north winds of 25–35 mph with gusts up to 45 mph. A Wind Advisory and Coastal Flood Warning remain in force; one to two feet of inundation is possible along vulnerable Manhattan shoreline around the morning high tide. Take the serious umbrella only if it can survive the wind, and avoid low Hudson-edge routes and waterfront parking.
Reporting cutoff: 4:48 a.m. ET. Weather and transport conditions refreshed at 5:59 a.m. ET.
