KID at 53–55 Frith Street is open today for lunch from noon to 3 p.m. and dinner from 5:30 to 10. For a seafood-led meal, the best-supported order is the Galata mackerel: a butterflied fish blackened over the grill, filled with carrot slaw and shellfish-rich liquor. The bluefin tuna ezme is another seafood option. Skip the goat-led signature, the goat-cheese courgette flower, and the dairy-forward desserts unless the table wants them. Grace Dent called the mackerel the star; Jay Rayner's later review was cooler on the restaurant overall, which is useful calibration rather than a veto. Expect roughly $60 a person before drinks and service, converted from the review's £45 estimate. The entrance is on Bateman Street despite the Frith Street address.
