The Surrealist Book: Tomorrow Lives in Mirrors opens to the public Sunday, October 4, on floor 3 at 11 West 53rd Street; member previews run October 1–3. The first presentation of the Helen and Sam Zell Collection includes sculptural bindings, unusual papers and artists’ working material. One volume has shattered glass enclosed in its covers; another encloses a dried seahorse. The book becomes an object you confront, rather than a transparent container for text.
