Cboe’s current implementation notice plans an October 19 launch for selected single-stock and ETF options on C1: queuing at 7:15 a.m., trading from 7:30–9:25 a.m. ET, and a single-stock curb session from 4–4:15 p.m. Launch and the October 17 weekend test remain subject to change. Eligible ETFs already trading until 4:15 retain that interval as regular hours.
The operational detail to read is risk initialization. New morning/default rules must arrive before 7 a.m.; new curb rules before 3:40 p.m. Changed rules alone have active counters reset at scheduled reloads. Session eligibility persists for carried GTC orders. This deserves a test of startup data, retained orders and counter state rather than just a longer session on a calendar. The FAQ describes selection thresholds—150,000 option contracts a day, a $50 billion underlying and 10 million underlying shares a day—and permits up to 100 qualifying classes. It is a bounded expansion, with liquidity still to be observed.
