KKR agreed on October 5 to acquire fund administrator Gen II at a $5.1 billion enterprise value, with closing expected in 2027 subject to approvals. Gen II serves more than 275 managers representing over $2 trillion in client assets. This gives KKR exposure to the work surrounding funds: books, reporting and investor operations. Revenue and EBITDA have quadrupled since 2020, a period including four acquisitions; the announcement supplies no valuation multiple. KKR’s announcement.

Gen II’s separate technology account gives that operational story texture. The company reports 98% accuracy without publishing a test population or error-severity distribution. A misplaced schedule and a misstated capital balance demand different levels of concern.
