Cboe began extended sessions on October 19 for options on 24 individual stocks and five ETFs on its C1 exchange. Earlier LEON coverage described the planned hours; the new fact is that the selected classes have actually launched and, by Cboe's measure, represented about 53% of 2026 average daily options volume through September. This is a concentrated live launch, not round-the-clock equity options.
The windows are 7:30–9:25 a.m. and 4:00–4:15 p.m. Eastern. Each class still depends on an open underlying market and halts with that stock or ETF. The useful follow-up now is observed liquidity and spreads in the new sessions; the release itself does not report those outcomes. Cboe has separately targeted a December 6 start for 23-by-5 equities on BZX, subject to readiness; it should not be confused with this options launch.
