Reuters reported three observations that were not used in the earlier coverage of the selloff: Asia-focused managers lost 2.6% on October 15; global systematic long-short and multistrategy funds were down roughly 1% that Thursday; and Goldman Sachs reported six consecutive sessions of hedge-fund selling in global AI stocks. Keep the windows and cohorts separate. The first two are one-day return observations; the third is a six-session flow observation. The report does not establish that selling continued through today, and it does not prove that managers rejected the underlying AI thesis. Shared factor exposure, regional concentration, long sales and short covers can make unlike portfolios respond to the same pressure without making their strategies identical.
