Balyasny Asset Management has hired Noah Hornstrom, a former Citadel portfolio manager, to join Corbets Capital next year as a senior portfolio manager leading an equities pod, Financial News reported on October 21. Hornstrom spent more than a decade at Citadel and most recently managed money in Ashler Capital, its fundamental long/short equities unit. Financial News

The vehicle distinction matters. Corbets says it runs fundamental, bottom-up global equities, manages Balyasny capital, and gives its portfolio managers operational independence. It is part of Balyasny’s equities expansion, not a new standalone fund raised from outside investors. Corbets

Financial News puts Balyasny at $37 billion and more than 2,000 employees, with over 100 open roles that include senior quant researchers in London and Hong Kong and AI engineers in New York. Hornstrom’s mandate is investment-facing; the hiring list shows that the adjacent buildout is still technical as well as managerial. Neither firm commented, and no capital allocation or compensation terms were disclosed.
