Gavilán Rayna Russom—formerly of LCD Soundsystem—released Wet under her Black Meteoric Star alias on September 16. Start with the 4:42 “5am Open Air Sunrise”.
The album was assembled from recordings made between 2008 and now. Russom frames it around the shared history of queer electronic music and leather culture; Pitchfork hears early house, electro, EBM and industrial music in deliberately raw form, with this track’s Chicago-acid chords opening into the next piece’s harder pressure.
