Jon Hamm’s investigator becomes a murder suspect while trying to recover stolen art. Greg Mottola directs, with Roy Wood Jr., Marcia Gay Harden, Kyle MacLachlan and John Slattery supplying unusually promising company. Studio synopsis and cast
This is a catch-up choice for a lighter evening: a loose comic mystery, intelligent-looking people behaving dubiously, and a protagonist whose composure leaves room for everyone else’s eccentricity. Some supporting characters are broad; the pleasure is the company and tone as much as the puzzle. It offers a clear stopping point tonight, without another season entering negotiations for your week.
