At Offer Waterman, Lucie Rie / Hans Coper: Life at the Wheel brings together more than 200 privately held works—the first major show in almost three decades to place the two artists side by side. It has the concentration of a museum exhibition without the institutional drag: free, no booking, Tuesday through Friday 10 a.m.–6 p.m.
The pairing matters. Both were émigrés; they worked together for 12 years at Albion Mews, then developed distinct formal languages that helped remake British studio ceramics. The show is at 17 St George Street through October 30. Bags stay at the entrance, and the temporary lift outage makes the three-floor installation an access consideration. Offer Waterman
